H&R Springs vs AMG Sport Springs

Hello All,

I am interested in lowering my C300, however I am concerned that if I was to purchase lowering springs, it would not lower that much compared to the Sport Suspension. Is this true? Anyone with a C300 Sport and lowering springs, I would like to see a picture of the car after lowering it. Thank you all for your time.

The spring manufacturers drop specs are from stock springs.
However i used Eibach pro kit and it still lowered the car about 2 - 2,5cm.
I also run spacers, 10mm front axle and 15 rear. Looks awesome!

Was it necessary to add the spacers or just to bring the wheels closer to the fender?

I highly suggest you don't get H&R springs, myself and couple others have an issue where after a month of use H&R springs are squeaking every time you go over bumps.

No not necessary, just to get wheels closer to the fender as it looks so much better imo.

The squeeking can also accour with the original springs, its a TIPS message for that problem at your dealer. Some dealers might blame the lowering kit, and you may have to lube them up yourself. Its a yellow rubber bit inside the struts in the front that gets dry over time.

I jones I just got my 2016 c-class w205 and installed a set of 19inch wheels staggered, but is your spacers hub centric and do they have the lip on the spacers to seat the wheel hub on the run hub tigh ? And do they vibrate when you're driving 70 mph .

2008 Mercedes-Benz C300. My other ride is a 92 240sx vert.
I have an 08 c300 on H&R super sports, I think it looks good but I'm just about to buy some H&R sports because the supersports I have are too low. So low that I've gone through 3 tires on just the front passenger side. I make a lot of right turns and it got so bad that the fender is cracked now lol. but the ride is pretty smooth and handling is great. No squeaking at all btw. over a year old and about 15k miles on them.

Yes my spacers are hub centric and have a lip to seat the wheel correctly.
No vibrations at all! The rears are H&R

Are you currently use the OEM shocks with H&R springs? Any problem?

Yes I use OEM shocks with lowering springs, but they are Eibach.
No problem at all! I actually think the ride is a bit smoother and it sits better at turns.

I'm looking forward to buy Eibach Pro Kit springs and use OEM shocks. I'm afraid the OEM shocks will go bad after awhile, as the performance shop told me. How many miles or how long have you been driving with them, so far?

I dont think they will go bad any quicker then normal. They sit about 2-2,5cm lower than normal (AMG line), and that doesent wear the shocks any more i think.
I got 3000km in, and no problems yet.

You'll be fine with the Eibach's "Tim B"
I know it's not apples to apples comparison but Eibach's are really well known for their "OEM" qualities. I came from the f80 m3 previously and they actually did a lot of the BMW ones direct. They don't go super low like the H&R but provide a comfortable ride. I see no reason why the oem shocks will go bad within the term of a lease (45k miles etc) for a moderate drop. Get it and post some pics! That wheel gap has gotta go lol
