Launch OBD and Stop-Start
I recently bought a Launch X431 Elite 2.0 bidirectional OBDII scanner for Mercedes-Benz and it is a great little scanner. The bidirectional ability allows for variant coding which is awesome for such an affordable and easy to use device.
One of the things I wanted to change is the irritating (to me) engine stop/start function. I usually just hit the button to turn it off every time I start the car, but this is not a cure, as I sometimes forget and the next time I stop, the engine quits, argh! I freaking hate that… do not want.
After some trial and error, I found the proper way to disable this with Launch and I want to share it here for others that have a Launch 2.0 device.
What this will do is configure the start-stop/eco button to maintain the last state and will survive ignition switch cycling. In other words; If you switch it off, it stays off forever. If you switch it on, it stays on forever. It will remain in that state until you change the button state, so you can turn it back on if you really wanted to.
Follow these selections from the Launch home screen:
THIS IS WHAT WORKS
It is done!
The following DO NOT WORK - the stop-start switch will still be on by default and the stop-start system will still automatically activate:

I'm happy that I don't have to remember to hit that stupid button anymore and I didn't have to spend the extra money for an aftermarket solution or pay some “coder” to do it for me.

Awesome work! Sounds like this is a real opportunity for a playlist for unlocking hidden features. Please keep us posted on anything else you learn with your new toy :-)
Seems like lowering is also a capability.

I'll probably just use it to change minor things to tweak, like how when you lightly push the turn signal stalk and it will indicate 3 times. Mostly when I change lanes, it's already clear and I only need 2 flashes, the 3rd one is generally going off when I'm already in the lane I wanted. I haven't found that parameter yet, but I haven't tried that hard to find it. I'm sure it's in there somewhere.
So far, I can highly recommend this tool, it works great. Especially for the price!

I already had my ILS+ activated and a lowering module, so I didn't look into it myself. I think the lowering is probable, the last time I was in there poking around, I remember seeing Level Calibration under the Suspension/Chassis CAN bus that showed the height settings for each corner so I assume you could change the default levels to lower values.

In the W212 section this has been done. Likely similar to W213.

Correct, the plus just means it can dim the oncoming traffic (in to shadow blocks) while keeping rest of the high beam active to not blind drivers. The non-plus simply means it just turns on and off when there is low ambient light just like every other car maker's adaptive high beam.

I always think cylinder deactivation decreases the lifespan of the engine but I could be wrong because to me some cylinders work harder than others in this mode, there is uneven wear and well the balance is messed up. I don't know the details.

instead of messing up your car with a Toy, leave it to a professional
Once your original coding is messed up there will be no return. direction > dealer or BenzNinja
At BenzNinja, for new members all this is Free
or rent. there are tons of more mods + we make custom
Coding is not a joke on MB and it's not code flipping like some amateurs with 0 knowledge might pretend.
It required years of experience.
BMW coding compared to MB would be doable by a 12yo kid.

The info above is here to prevent you from making the same mistake as many now BenzNinja Members made.
This is not an attack!
We have over 150 W213 AMG and 300+ W213 happy members who will all tell you the biggest mistake they made is, reading to the 2 cheap haters, then messing up their car.
Most of them joined us. sad and expensive experience.
Another significant number of members have been coding and discovered that, at best, they would only get 3-4 mods on the huge existing lists.
So please keep in mind that the best you can do is READ THE REVIEWS. You will immediately understand what we are talking about.
Our Private Club and Service are N°1 in the USA and the biggest collectors trust us to take care of the cars for years.
BenzNinja is close to 3000 members now..
It's simple to check our words: Over 7 years, you will not find one single negative BenzNinja User review.
We are not desperate getting people to join, we are usually saturated by join-requests,
We are a Club with 100% happy members! not some business...

Does the 2023 have ILS + already enabled? I was driving and put on my brights and the headlamps were doing things I've never seen before, moving the light around, cutting part of the light, how do I know if I have it?

Stock ILS turns the lights with the steering wheel and turns on high beams automatically ONLY when there's no car in front or oncoming traffic. If you really have ILS+ enabled, the high beams will be on a lot more often regardless of whether there's a car in front of your or oncoming traffic, it'll adjust the light pattern/pixels as needed.

I heard the USA finally has it but very limited, I think there was also a brightness limitation unlike the full ILS+ in Europe.
