discounts on current 23/24 s580s

Good morning, was planning on ordering an s63 but at this point don't want to drop 200k with no eta on when cars will actually be released / built before refresh.

Does anyone have any ideas or dealers that have s580s on sale with significant discounts available.

I just purchased my 580 a few days ago. AMEX has a $5750 discount and so does Sams club but you cannot use both (so as long as you are an AMEx or Sam’s member you can get 5750 off)

the Benz loyalty discount is $5000 off but you need to be returning a leased Benz that’s 21 or newer. You can stack this discount with the above.

then the rest of the negations will be from dealer and I’ve found you can get 12-16k off. For me I got them to a 19k dealer discount on top of the other incentives I noted above.

this came from 5 months of haggling and I played the long game and didn’t bite until they gave me my price. You also need to leverage 3 or so dealers and eventually the honest ones will rise to the top. Good luck! Let me know what you find!

ps- the AMEX discount was as high as 10750 back in October of 2023. So I expect it to be the same if you wait till winter, but that’s just a guess.

One more note. The amex $5750 is for 2024 models only.

I think the $10750 Amex is still valid but it only applies to 2023 models. So if you can find a 23 then you can get a better deal…but likely slim pickings.

yes was for the 2024 model. Out of 4 dealers only 1 of them agreed to my price and I think I got lucky as they were under their sales numbers for that month and said they were selling my car for a loss just to meet the volume quota. Whether that is true or not, I feel it was a good deal. Other dealers couldnt come close to the same number so its really matters to shop around and even call dealers that are out of your market to see what you can find. Let me know what you find out there, Id be curious and happy to help with any guidance as I negotiated for 5-6 months.

Just to confirm all of this, on 2023s there is $10k lease cash and $10,750 AMEX rebate which can be stacked. 2024s its $5k each and they can be stacked.

I was close to a deal on a leftover 2023 but the dealer blew it up, wanting to only offer me $1k off MSRP on a unit they have had for 13 months plus the $10k and trying to tell me that the two rebates can't be combined.

Lot of dealers are still really shady on these things

@ETphoneHome would you be willing to share the dealer you bought from? PM is fine...

I'm getting the run around huge, most lately a dealer in Texas who was only willing to come off MSRP $2,500 on a leftover 2023 that was a DEMO! Also, I am being told that the AMEX $10,750 rebate and the $10,000 lease rebate on 2023s cannot be stacked, then some are saying they can be...very frustrating.

There are no lease rebates on 500's and 580's, though the following can be used in a leasing scenario. There is dealer cash and fleet incentives available: AMEX, Sam's Club, AMA, etc. (note that dealer cash does not have to be disclosed). These cannot be stacked on one another and applies only to the month of May.

Dealer cash:
-2023 S500: $5,000
-2023 S580: $10,000
-2024 S500: $0
-2024 S580: $5,000

Fleet:
-2023 S500: $5.750
-2023 S580: $10,750
-2024 S500: $0
-2024 S580: $750

On Mercedes products there is roughly 6% difference between MSRP and invoice. The dealer's true cost on a car is invoice + dealer holdback which amounts to 12.5%. This can be applied to every NEW vehicle. Loaners are a different story, though the dealer cash and fleet incentives still apply. The goal would be to use the fleet incentive and get as close to or below 12.5% off on top of that. Once that's been accomplished you'd want buy rate on your lease money factor. Most dealers will have no interest in doing this as they will make nothing or lose money selling you a car outside of a doc fee and a potential volume bonus at month's end if they hit the goal set by Mercedes. if you have questions about this let me know.

I'm getting some dealers telling me they can be stacked (including a broker) and some telling me they can't...I appreciate the clarity

-2023 S580: $10,000
-2024 S500: $0
-2024 S580: $5,000

Correction, there is $5,750 in fleet incentives (AMEX) for the 2024 S580, just confirmed this on AMEX's website.

Thats where I am having trouble. I can't get a dealer even on a leftover 2023 to come anywhere near that 12.5%. I got that one in Texas to come down $11,000 before the AMEX rebate on a demo, I don't want to do a demo without being able to look at it first. You would think they would want to move a leftover 23. So on a $140,000 unit I should be able to get $15,000 off from the dealer, plus the $10,750 AMEX fleet rebate and they should still be making $2,500 plus the retail commission on the MF. That should net me ~ $150 a month more than I am paying on my S560, and for a vehicle that is $18,000 more expensive thats fair.

My plan at this point is to wait until the end of the month and take another run at them and see if one of them will do it...I also have a broker working on it lets see what he can do too...

Had a few cocktails last night so I mistyped the 2024 580 fleet discount. You’re correct, thanks for fixing.

The loaner situation can be a bit muddied unfortunately. Since the dealer cash is not required to be disclosed, many dealers will advertise loaners online for say, $25k off of MSRP but what it really is is the dealership’s discount of $15k plus the $10k dealer cash.

I would be cautious of waiting too long if you want to take advantage of leftover 2023’s. Mercedes removed lease support on a great number of 2023 ICE vehicles in May. The S-Class still has support but I could see they removing it in June leaving you with 2024’s as the only option.

No worries, thank you for your help...

I'd definitely pull the trigger now, but I can't get a dealer to discount any of the 2023s I'm interested in more than $7,500 or so...maybe at the end of the month they will do better, especially if they also think the lease support will come to an end...
