I know that you can obtain the colour code via the data card using the VIN, but I am not sure if I have the right colour as it states 'Beige', the upper part of the dashboard is a darker brown colour to that of the seats etc.
Can any one advise how to find this colour.
You can get the color code from the dealer by the part description or number and your VIN. However, Mercedes and most, probably all import car dealers do not share the mix formula like they do for exterior paint colors. The parts have a color name such as pebble or stone associated with the color. Leather dye companies may have matches called the same name but there may be light and dark plus versions. SEM makes a huge selection of leather dyes. My body shop supply guy has more accurate color pages like you find for paints at home depot. There are also color samples available from SEM online and in automotive stores. There are colors available for Mercedes online you can look at like at Leather World Technologies and Leatherique. You can send a sample swatch to either of them to match the color.

My interior looks like yours. I just had the steering wheel color matched using the triangular piece forward of the window. He said he would use it to match and store the code. Ask Brandon for that color that he just matched for Thom Ross. They have a kit for IIRC $53.99 with all the solutions u need to brush it on. leatherworldtech.com It just shipped today. So I have not verified the match yet. With sunlight bleached out interior pieces, it will probably not be perfect.
Can anyone actually provide how to get the colour I need?
I just did... contact Brandon. Your color scheme looks identical to mine, 2003 500SLPer Mercedes VIN decoder: VIN WDBSK75F53F060591
