This is driving me nuts all of the sudden my tire pressure sensor came on orange.
I'm riding at about 40/41 all the way around.
My tire package is the 285/40 R23 in front and 325/35 R23 in back
There are two PSI charges in gas can and in the door which I posted both.
Which one is it?
Second how come there is no way to check what the current factory TPM is set at? I looked and it only shows you your "current" TPM reading.
I over inflated even to about 44 all the way around and still all orange..and the orange tire sensor light is on.
I even lowered to about 37 and the front's showed "red" and the rear were still orange.
In the end I got frusrated and just set it to about 40/41 all the way around and reset the TPM. Very lame you can't just see what it "should be at" in the computer.

Your sales guys should've set the target tire pressure on delivery day and forgot!
The software not knowing what the car's tire pressure "should be" is not unexpected: every GLS trim (from 450 to Maybach) and every configuration may require a different load pressure (that's why the stickers for the tire pressure exists for your specific car)!
"Should be at" changes with a ton of things....on ours, with our AMG wheels on Contis...42 at all four. This does not match the door (we have it due to comfort). Your results may vary.

Agreed that the pressure can be variable based on preference. However, the SA should have made sure a "typical" setting was used so that the OP didn't need to see the warning lights on delivery!

I have a 2020 GLS580 with the 21” AMG package which includes 275/45 and 315/40/21 Michelin tires. There are two settings for tire pressure, one for “normal load” and one for “maximum” load. For my setup, normal is 34 psi all around, but maximum is 41. Unless I’m taking 7 people on vacation with full luggage, towing, or something like that, I use the normal pressure of 34. The truck rides and stops better that way. So my first suggestion is to check your gas filler door to see what the “normal” setting should be. I’m assuming something in the 30’s, similar to mine. My second suggestion is once you have the pressures where you want them, use the menu in the dash to reset the desired pressure to the new setting and that should turn off any warnings. On my car “red” means over heated tire and “yellow” is tire pressure or sensor failure and is accompanied by a message explaining which. But I’m 5 years behind your model, so it could be this is something new.

You should be able to set the reference values and restart the TPMS in the Service -> Tires page. Probably should do this with the cold pressures where you want them.
I also have the 23's and I've been running 43 front / 41 rear cold on the Mich Pilot Sport 4s (as if we have a choice) per RennTech's suggestion. My best guess 85% city 15% highway and virtually always light load and in 'sport suspension' mode. I have 33k miles on vehicle and this set over 20k miles on them! I think I still have another 5k+ easy. Tires are STILL quiet and wearing very evenly. I found when inflated to gas cap suggestion, steering felt mushy and more reverberation over bumps and cracks in road. I've always been very sensitive to tire pressure and stay on top of it.
My 2013 GL63 seemed to burn through tires and I resigned to buying new once a year around 7k miles (Continental Summer Performance) as they got very noisy as tread got low. I ran 40 all around per RennTech on the 21". Finally, when an all season performance tire came available I purchased (Mich Pilot Sport 4 All season performance). They seemed to last well over 20k miles and quiet quiet. I could feel the softer sidewall but I also felt my wallet heavier too!
