EQS 580
Lost to a lambo after Vmax

It was a sedate normal drive on a highway on ramp when a used white Lamborghini 2015-2019 Huracan driven by an instagram BRO tried to vanquish me and my EQS 580. He eventually did after I reached Vmax. What was more hilarious was the look on his face when he revved his engine to 9000 rpm at an attempt to pass and this luxobarge passed him at speeds below EQS 580 Vmax.

Not sure I understand the point of your comment as it's possible that his EQS580 is charged using renewable energy such as solar which of course is not even a possibility with an ICE powered car (yes I am aware Porsche is looking at carbon neutral fuels for ICE powered cars).

It's because the coal corporations really took care of their employees and communities in West Virginia. Don't believe conspiracy theories on the Interwebzes that claim otherwise. This is a nation of, by and for living, breathing human beings. Our politicians would never protect and serve inanimate legal entities like Exxon and Israel. That's just crazy talk!

Porsche and Lotus have a second gear to take care of the vmax problem. And mbworld has a "kill story" subforum by the way... buried three layers deep somewhere like the electric SUV forums. Doh!

Boy, the Environuts cant take a joke. But, alas, dont worry, the wind mill is made by Chinese slave labor in an environment much the same as a typical US "Super Fund" site by most probably child slave labor...then put on a train to go to a boat to go to a train to go to a truck to go and kill birds.......yeah....Win for Mother Earth (assuming Earth identifies as a woman, that does not in and of itself mean the woman is female).

For the life of me I don't understand why pople have to interject politics into a thread like this. Street racing between an electric car and a Lambo is cool...FULL STOP!!!.
"OldMan"...what you said is NOT a joke. Jokes need to contain humor, and humor is routed in irony, or at least an element of surprise. Anybody could see what you had to say a mile away. And even if you want to bring up a point that has consequence, which is totally valid, why interject snarky comments? Again, what you said is NOT a joke, it contains no irony, just demonstrates your inability to share a belief in a meaningful way.

Its sad that the 580 has a nanny at 130, but essentially all non- AMG MB's are. Even the AMG EQS is nannied at 155. I would theorize that its all about the weight. 3 tons at very high speed murders brake longevity. To maintain brake performance at track speeds probably requires ceramic brakes to be mandatory rather than optional.

Smoking lambos is the only reason I drive an electric. You can't send tanks and jet fighters to Ukraine and be carbon neutral. So I get the joke! Lets save the polar bears from drowning by giving Israel 2000 pound bombs to drop on refugee camps! Yeah, riiiight!

Wow...I after reading this I scrolled up to see your earlier post. Again....WHY??? W you the kid that nobody wanted to play with, or the guy who had no "real" friends in high school. Dude, this thread is about having fun...racing a lambo. And maybe you haven't noticed, but we're all duplicitous. I care deeply about the environment. BUT...I drive an V8 Twin Turbo S63 and love every moment of it. I'm conflicted, and I'm okay with it. I also love my wife and consider myself to be a GREAT husband. But I look at other women when at the store, on the street, anywhere, and love it. There's a dynamic dissonance with every decision we make. Which is why these shallow "if you really love the planet, you'd....(fill in the blank here)" arguments fall flat. Only people in your echo chamber don't see the ignorance of your remarks.

Well said. These days a lot of people picture themselves as biting political satirists. It rarely works and is rarely effective.

But, I did get the hell out of Illinois for MUCH greener pastures :-) Yeah, so I left a few dozen folks unemployed there....but, hey, our species is nomadic for a reason.

To that. The OP never did clarify if the car was Coal powered. Every EV in about 80% of the US is in fact coal powered.

We did have some folks (an MD) as if he can pay to put a charger in our parking area for his EV (Lucid). Hard NO.

yes I agree, it is probably all engineered out due powertrain limitations even the taycan turbo S maxes at 155. It was the first time I floored it in two years of ownership on sport mode to Vmax. Once I get some garage space I may consider a fun ICE roadster.

Amazing how misinformation can run so rampant in our society. It is based on a lack of knowledge? Ignorance is based on a lack of information, while stupidity is based on the rejection of information.

If this isn't enough to totally debunk that line of thinking nothing will. Wait...what, what am I saying...expecting?
I'm done with this. People should enjoy their ICE cars, without anybody telling them they're wrong, and the same is true for EV's.

In fact, no. Coal is less than 20% of power generation in the US. If your electricity is fossil fueled its probably gas. There are many many areas of the coutry where renewables are a higher percentage of the energy mix than any other source
Even TEXAS! So.....Keep pluging away with pride! California has instances where they have a surplus of energy during peak hours that they don't know what to do with since they dont have enough storage capacity! Electrons baby!

A way to get there would be a carbon removal tax. That would level the playing field between ICE and EV's climate wise. Then you would pay to play.

I can't say I've never done that.....just look at my past rides and you'll know. However, so dangerous on streeets at those speeds, I really try to restrain myself these days (I am getting older!). I also really lament the seemingly worsening political nature of the replys on this previously harmonic board nowdays. Hope it moderates (pun intended!!).
