I got a used set of brembos and some new 360mm rotors for my 2015 e400 w212. I want to paint them but I can't decide on what color. I was going to go red for the AMG look but porsche acid green is really growing on me. Has anyone ever seen green brakes on a Mercedes before? I like the exotic look but it could also be tacky.
Should I paint the stock rear calipers to match? I can't decide if I should paint those black or color match the front.
This is a real photo of my car. I used photoshop to compare colors.
For a black car I like silver. Focus is on the car 1st and then you notice the calipers 2nd if looking. With a color like red I think it draws your attention too much and its the first thing you notice.
If you had a custom color car like light blue then i'd say go with the wacky color calipers, you will notice the cars paint 1st then calipers second. If that makes sense.
That green looks great.... I have mine getting painted this Wed and I'm going with red.. I guess with white cars red is the only normal option.... Boring..

I think white would work with any color. Even white calipers would look great.
Do the job properly
Paint the stone guards silver while you are at it (just mask off, you only need to paint what shows)
Paint the wheel bolts (drill 5 holes in a piece of timber to stand them up in and spray them all together)
Paint the brake rotor hubs silver which usually look rusted (but don't paint where the rotor mates to the wheel, just clean that up)
Take the wheels off the car one at a time and thoroughly clean the inside behind the spokes with degreaser, and then paint the inside silver to match the outside (use a toothbrush to get the grime out of the lettering)
Fit some metal dust caps for the tyre valves, silver.
Buy some new centre caps with the tri star and Mercedes logo (you can get them online cheap)

I would only use the plastic caps that come with the Schrader replacement parts kits. The rebuild kits I buy come with the silver cap. Just in general I deal with corrosion from road salt in the winters and living near the ocean.
There was thread on here not too long ago where the person had installed metal caps and could not get them off due to corrosion.
