You should get lots of recommendations...but I suggest that you go to porterfield for drilled and slotted brembos and R4-S pads....

http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/

You may have to end up calling them to make your final selection/fitment.

drilled discs and ceramic pads are no good without uprated calipers..
You're talking 4/6 pot calipers and the whole set up will be > $ 6000
Too costly....Just changing the discs and pads will not get you tremendous
improvement, maybe 20% better braking....I use the original MB discs and pads
good for normal driving but not for circuit driving....It depends how and where you drive....

I respectfully disagree. Stock pots with uprated rotors and pads will make one heckuva difference - certainly enough of a difference when you consider that that one extra car length in stopping ability may save you from plowing into somebody or something - and what's that worth? I'd gladly spend (and do, regularly) a thousand bucks to gain that much more in braking ability...and that much more of a safety margin.
Better tires and brakes - the first and most affordable mods that one should make to a car....

I have to agree with ClayJ here. I have done a similar upgrade on my Chevy truck using a more durable then stock slotted rotor and a pads with a coefficient of fiction more then 50% better then OEM. It's a agressive pad and would eat the stock rotors pretty fast, but I've had the set for 50K miles now and the pads are still going strong and no more warped rotors. It makes a world of difference in stopping this 5000lb beast and they never get mushy, even when towing now. I've since changed to higher temp fluid (ATE blue) and SS lines, the lines firm up the pedal even more. I'm not a fan of cross drilled rotors b/c they tend to crack (I know they look cool), slotted only is really the best way to go.

some
hi,

on my SL i have ceramics and cross drilled. i dive my cars very hard, and the faiding of the break power is a lot less than with OEM pads, but ceramic breaks are able to get hotter, so if you are going to change to ceramic, and drive hard, get some better break fluid (800-1000 deg.)

As I said guys,it depends on how and where you drive.
Of course drilled discs and uprated pads will make a difference ,but only if you're braking from 200 KMH and not under normal braking...
That was my point....
And my philosophy also is to uprate your chassis first[brakes, wheels, suspension] before any other mods...
There you have it..

Can't go wrong with Brembo on the Rotors. I like Porterfield R4-S pads.
See what Tirerack has (forum on this site) or go to

http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/

and I do like the slotted rotors....
