Someone here should know this. I bought this 1996 Mercedes-Benz SL500 a few weeks ago (July 2015). I've been checking out your pictures and notice my grill is NOT the same. I haven't seen another one that matches mine. I am assuming this is NOT the stock grill. Can anyone tell me where this grill came from?
The wheels are also not stock. They have 'AMG' on one spoke. Did they come off of an SL500 AMG?
I'm really enjoying this car. It needs work on some of the systems, but the powertrain is strong and healthy. The trim and leather is in pretty good shape, too. It's very presentable. I've had it for two weeks, given to me by my father-in-law who was tired of dealing with it (various failing systems that I'll either dismantle or fix). It has 100k miles and I believe I'm the fourth owner (third in the family).
Played with it in Photoshop to erase the background, add words, etc.
HDR photo, cleaned up a little in Photoshop.
iPhone photo, no touch-ups

Don't know if you got answer but my 97 SL500 has same grill and AMG wheels as part of "Sport" package which has sport script on body
Hope that helps.

Actually bought last year just getting around to posting pictures which are not too good but will try to get better.
Car has 73,054 miles and my mechanic says its in fantastic shape so I'm happy with it
These cars are amazing. I am in the market of purchasing my first R129 and was wondering what wheels you have on your Black SL600 - they look fantastic on the profile.
this baby is year 1990, with only 98000 km on clock. when bought it was in very bad visual condition, got some terrible quality, cheap fiberglass knock off VALD bodykit installed. so thought - why not to make something different. came up with idea to custom fit AMG Gen. 1 bodykit from MB E series.
here' two work in progress pics, in one week car car will be ready to receive new, shiny paint
