A friend of mine is selling his R129 1997 SL500. I was told that the owner was friends with someone at daimler and received this car and that it is the only R129 with this color combination in the world. Does anyone know what the name of this interior trim is...? Also, considering the car has 69.000km and is in great conditions, what would a decent price be ?

Your SL looks amazing! Great pictures. Cant believe you drove it onto the bike path over there! I only say that because I'm local in Bay Ridge so I know that pier.
Just purchased this 92 locally for $3k, two owner with 88k. Sat for a while and needed some cleaning and maintenance. I'll have to reseal some of the top cylinders, ordered a full set. The headliner on the hardtop was sagging too and I'm currently repairing that. I'll post a repair on it soon. Thing runs awesome and drives great! Love it!
My 96 Ruby Pearl SL500 and my modern AMG. Itching to take the SL out , as the weather is currently amazing, hope this lock down ends soon and we're back to normal.
Just love the character and traditional Benz feel of the SL compared to the modern AMG.
My grandfather finally confirmed that he will be passing his 99 SL500 on to me after my years of helping him from time to time on the car and making hints at it being passed on to me. Im new to the MB world, v8 world. Im used to the JDM/ turbo spectrum. However, Im looking forward to keeping his 500 period correct , maintained to live long, and bit of electronic upgrading for my taste. Here's a graphic I made on photoshop after getting the news.
