Body Shop in Orange County

I live in Irvine, CA and would be interested in finding a shop that comes with qualified references so that I can get my front AMG apron painted. Two local quotes came in at $615.00.

Bell's Autobody, Costa Mesa, 714-546-1220
formerly Bruce Strauss - Quote is for removal+sending the bumper out to be stripped and primered then the body shop does the paint and install at 5-7 days.

Auto Recon, Irvine, 949-587-2886
Shop will take the bumper off, sand and paint, and install in three days.

FIX N CHIPS, Costa Mesa, 949-515-0166
R&R, sand, paint= $450.00 for three days.

Please understand that I have not had work done by any of these shopes. Only estimates. So I cannot tell you about there work.

just all the work that he has done for me has been A+ quality, and i have been to 3 of the painters on 16th street, and he is by far the best. super nice guy too. BUT his price does reflect his work. so its not realy cheap, but its also not very expensive. its fair.

Mark,

Is Jr. at?

Benz Werks
789 W 16th St
Costa Mesa, CA 92627
(949) 515-7530

If not what is the business name. It's always good to have another INDY.

BTW, thanks for the feedback on Paul @ A Watkins.

Have you ever had a MB front apron R&R'd + paint? What did it cost you?

Orange County Detailer

jjay911 & RedMongoosE,

Have either of you had success finding a GREAT OC Detailer?

I have been using Steve's Detail and they are not meeting my needs.

I want someone who can make a Black car like a mirror, EVERYWHERE. Not just the hood.

I am willing to pay extra the first time to make it GREAT.

JJ,

How did A-Watkins Auto Body do with your car? Where you completely satisfied with everything? Did they get the car done when promised? Was the dollar amount fair?

Please tell me all of your thoughts with regard to Paul handling your car and you as a customer and requests.

Sport bumper damage

What do you suppose happened to your front bumper? Has it been caught on a concrete slab with the rebar sticking up about 1/4".

I have found that some of these concrete stops are higher than others and that this is common damage to the Sport front bumper. If you get to close it will hang and when you back up it tears the bumper. My insurance company calls this a collison=one accident point which will probably raise the yearly rate because the total cost of just a new bumper is about $1700 with a tow hook cover at $285 plus paint and labor. My guess is about $2500.00 total. All for a $250 deductible.

You and I know that the bumper can be bought for about $650 on eBay. But the Stealership has to make there money!
