Question Chromed Front Grille

Hey I need an opinion here. I am inclined to have my chormed grille painted black. My car is Emerald Black and I am a stickler for originality, however, when I reviewed the "129 Official Picture Thread" the Goose was the only one with a Black Grillle (as far as I can see anyway)Looks damm good.So do you think this would enhance the looks of the car or take away from it.
I will certainly appreciate the feedback.

I would keep the original one as is, and get another one to paint, if I wanted another look. Remember, if you ever want to sell it original sells best.

You don't have a chrome grille......If you have a chrome grille, which mean you have a Silver Arrow grille and it come in chrome...... anyways good luck painting your grille.......

Hey Brabus,
I always thought that shiny silvery chromy looking grille was best described as chrome.
So I guess it's all just silver paint then.

the normal grilles are more of a titanium finish than chrome

the silver arrows have a brushed aluminum grille, which is shinier and more of a silver color

the star on the grille on the other hand is chromed plastic, and is much shinier than the rest of the grille

Insurance nightmare

I have one claim with Geico for the lady that backed into my Car with her Tahoe.

THe 2nd claim is for the ripped bumper from the SHipping company that brought my car out from Texas. ( they also f***ed up my Fiat)
THe shipping company is ignoring me so I am having my Insurance company go after them.

THe 3rd is the Fbag that backed into my car. I have his truck license plate number because he came back to the scene of the crime but all I have is a police report because I did not witness him actually hit me However his truck matches up to the damage. SO I am having my Insurance company go after him as well.

I may need the goose to take me over to his body shop in Costa Mesa so I can figure out this mess. Oh and to top it off I got a golf Ball size rock chip the other day. JJ

jjay, you are not having much luck lately. I go to great pains when I park my car. At the malls I usually park at the in the last spot in the far corner. I never take my car to big box stores which are frequented by women. (Wal-Mart /Sears. I saw a kid take a shopping cart to a G 35 recently in a Queens New York Wal-Mart. It was't a pretty sight. Mom just loaded the kid into the mini van and took off.

Bad Luck

Yea I have had some bad luck. I have my Fiat at a friends. The Benz is in my underground parking garage. THe ferrari and Alfa are in my Warehouse. Ive just been threw a period of having parking problems. THe alfa is on ebay and its the one with 4000 hits at 7500 bucks. I expect it to sell hopefully. That will give me some more space for parking. JJ

Window wont respond!

My 1992 SL500 right door window will not come down or move, how hard is it to remove the door panel and look at the motor? Also, the A/C buttons are sticky and do not always respond, any ideas or fixes?
Thanks for any insight.

Hey BigP, Nice looking grill and is the type I'll be buying for mine. Let me ask you a few questions...

o Where/who did you source this from? Website and/or email

o Is the material actual chrome or chromed ABS?

o Difficulty to install? 1= Plug and Play changeout
10= Get a Pro to do it

o Fitment-Are the blades of the grill flush with the hood surround like the original?

TIA for your help-

Bob

Hi!

Actually I bought the grill at German Ebay, I live in Germany.

It is chromed ABS, was very easy to install (10 Minutes) so I give it a 1. The blades are a little bit more in front because they are bigger, so it doesn't flush like the original. But it looks more aggressiv this way, what I prefer.

Cheers,
Patrick

Thanks Patrick, I appreciate the info. Since my skill level is about a 2, that's good news that it's ez to install.
