Curb Rash Wheel Repair

I have the staggered AMG 5 spoke monoblock alloy wheels that come with the Sport package. When I bought my car both of the front wheels needed curb rash repair.

I decided to call in a mobile wheel repair specialist. They repaired each of the wheels on the car for $125/each and they did a fantastic job. I would strongly suggest that you consider this avenue if it works for you.

Pics?

Hi Lynns:

Glad to hear your wheels are back in tip-top shape. Do you happen to have some before/after pics you could post?

Thanks, Will

you should host pictures here. To view photos on the other forum we would have to sign up.

I am curious to see the results, I have a wheel that is in dire need of touching up. Did they clear coat too?

Very Cool. I had Velvet Touch come out to my office yesterday to fix two really bad AMG five (thin) spoke wheels -- they look BRAND NEW. It took only about 2.5 hours. A dude named Migual did the work. $125 each.

My understanding is that they cover all of San Diego and Orange counties and parts of Los Angeles county (where I am).

And, no I didn't take photos. But one of them had a strip of curb rash that was up to 1/2 inch wide around 90% of the tire (I ran over a curb that was in a very unexpected place on a very narrow driveway).

But I'm very happy with the result. So happy that I went for a midnight run and ended up with a ticket for 84 in a 65 zone. I wish they could make that freakin' rash go away.

Yes, Miguel did the work on my car and he did a great job. I understand that he has been doing this about seven years now. Miguel told me that his work is guaranteed for two years.

Did you tell him that I posted my results about his work on this forum?

Sorry about your speed ticket. Traffic School here you come!

I told Miguel about this board AND that I learned of Velvet Touch through this board -- and that another SL owner posted the results of his repair on the board. Also, that I would be posting.

He wrote it all down; I think he wants to see about advertising here.

Yeah, he gave me huge discount for posting here. Did you get your discount? I hope you got yours. HA HA HA NOT. No discount.

This is the best kind of advertizing that he can get.
