Just Got My SL

2002 Silver AMG wheels and body kit. 29k miles and georgeous black interior. I love it! Traded my 97 s500 coupe, which I will miss, but I was ready for the drop top. Haven't done pictures yet, but here's one from the dealership:

Thanks Red! I've been following your car for a while now. Love the deep red on the SL. Just curious, is that a stock paint job or did you get it sprayed? I'm in love with silver right now, but the red on yours makes me think about a color change.

Congrats! Doesn't that R129 feel quite small compared to getting in the W140! I noticed that when I looked at a '91 last saturday....

no respray over here! the early reds were ]Imperial Red, it was red with some blue in it, the newer reds are Firemist and Mars Red, they have more orange in it and dont look as deep imo.

Nice sled! I've had my 2002 Silver Arrow for about a month now, and it's definitely the greatest car I've ever owned. It's way more "me" than anything else I've had, and sometimes I feel like I've had them all. Mine's pretty much a twin of yours, but with two-tone interior and different rims.

A truly gorgeous, timeless classic design in silver.

A lot smaller. I like it feels more zippy. The w140 coupes were sedans with two doors, big floaty beasts that felt like driving on a cloud. Add to that the 16 inch donut tires, and it was like any big sedan I've ever driven.

Now, 18 inch wheels and a lot less weight is just more fun to drive.

Wow, it's a gorgeous red. My step-father has an 05 SL in red, and it is not nearly as deep.

I love the silver arrow editions. My step-father has decided he's jealous of my r129 and now wants to try and find a Silver Arrow for fun and switch his 05 SL to a new s550 sedan. He used to have a 96 SL320, which he loved. How did you come across the Silver Arrow?

Well, it's a little the opposite for me. The 129 has the stock tires and original suspension. The 140 just got the accumulators replaced and is riding on 18s with 255 front and 285 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars, a tight fit to say the least.

Now it's time to upgrade the 129 a bit. It came with good tires, so i picked up a set of stock '97 wheels for it to update the look a bit and get rid of the curb rash.
