What is this SL760 Renntech with salvage title worth?
I saw this car on ebay and love it,Its got a ton of work done to it and the listing says the motor has been increased to a 7.6L with 625 hp,its has about 29,700 miles on it but has a SALVAGE title due to a accident.
I emailed him and he responded telling me he was looking to get $42,900 for it.
I have seen clean, low milage sl600's for low $20k's on ebay,so taking in to account the modifications and the salvage title, how much do you guys think this car is worth?

hard to say, salvage title takes a lot away from a sale due to many things. One being unless you have perfect credit, you can not finance one, the workmanship quality is un-known. Who bored out the motor? looks like a different intake manifold than the M120 comes with. but it is late model, and rare. I'd say 26,000 is what I personally would pay for that due to salvage title and given miles.
thats just me. I paid 19k almost two years ago for my 600 and that was a good price.
hope that might help a little!

EDIT: I looked, and it's says it's a RENNtech engine job, so I'd say 30k at that point IF it was repaired properly
EDIT 2: oops, didn't notice the literate. Does the RENNtech intake manifold look like that?

I have seen this car before online. However, there is an issue here; Renntech's engine package bores out the motor to 7.4 Liters, so I'm not sure where this 7.6 figure came from. It is a rare car indeed, and packs one helluva punch.

SL500 2001 Formula 1 Edition;
It claims to be a Silver Arrow, but the interior is missing the two-tone leather.
I would imagine that if RennTech did do the engine mods, they could verify.
It looks great, but my gut tells me something is wrong.

I say it's worth nothing. I wouldn't buy a salvage-titled car at any price.
But, to go through the motions and think it over....Unless that accident happened just a few weeks ago, then compute back what that car's value would have been and just how much damage you would need in order to total it.
Then, consider the fact that AFTER it was totalled, someone else bought it and fixed it anyway. That spells trouble, since if the insurance company couldn't get it to make sense even with the cheapo body-shops that they use, you just KNOW whoever bought it for salvage did an even WORSE job in order to make any money on the deal.
Just do yourself a favor and stay away. I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10ft pole.

I think it was Tony who said that he had a 525+ HP Brabus SL 7.3 and that the power was to much for the car. Can you imagine 625 HP?? What a ticket waiting to happen or in this case anaccident.

I love the 2002 SL600 SA interior but I would stay away from this car. Because this car stands our from all the rest it has been discussed more than several times. Please read http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129...ml#post2622528
