1990 SL300 R129 Black/Black 93K miles (car has been stored and very lightly driven.) Instrument cluster recently failed. Have great mechanic that checked entire elec system and verified failure. Sent it to BBA-Reman in MA for repair - they just called and said they could not repair it. Anyone know where I can get a used or rebuilt or recycled instrument cluster in the USA? Currently unemployed, money is a problem, plus must DMV register it asap. Thanks, DSherman in San Diego.

google nationwide auto recycling, I've bought MB stuff from them and had good results.

 

Beckmann Technologies is one of the best MB electronic repair places.I had to buy a new cluster from MB for my 1995 SL320 for $1058 when mine went out.The Motherboard gets shorts and you ave to replace the motherboard.Usually the instruments are ok.Beckmann can fix and test it for functionality.I think they quoted me about $400.The only reason that I bought a new one is because I was also have engine wiring harness problems and I decided to get everything fixed at once.That way I eliminated those parts from the equation if any more problems surfaced.So far after 4 years no problems.
