Question Performance Pulley for Earlier R129 ?

Hello R129 owners,

I wanted to gauge interest and see how many of the R129 owners would be interesting in light weight harmonic damper pulleys for the earlier M119 engine R129s. If interested I would like to hear your comments to better gauge if there is any interest. Thanks.

I'd be very interested, would you be able to give an indicative performance gain on such a modification and theoretical cost?

Gains would be roughly 15-20HP/TQ and it would cost significantly less than $500, most likely close to $400 depending on a couple of factors. Improvements in shifting smoothness & speed would also be noticed on the older style MB transmissions.

Please expound further as to how this pulley can give me a gain of about 20hp/torque, are there any dyno results with this pulley? I would understand if it results in a rev'ing slightly faster because of the lesser weight of the pulley compared to the stock, but a 6% hp gain?

Thank you in advance,

Chicky

Agreed Gains seams way too much , Would this be available for the R230 SL500 ?

Here we go again...

Anyone who is considering one of these pulleys could do a search on other forums and uncover a bounty of evidence that AMS Performance is an unscrupulous fraud. But why bother? Just a tiny bit of common sense should prevent anyone from wasting their money on one of these worthless pulleys. And if somehow that doesn't stop some people; well, maybe those folks should have paid more attention in high school physics.

Dyno Evidence coming soon, and the pulleys will be backed by a dyno guarantee. The stock pulleys are extremely heavy and there is lots of room for improvement.

Bobterry, keep it clean or moderators will be contacted, you have shared your opinion in the past. No need to repost.

I agree. Hence my earlier reference to a "bounty of evidence" of your unscrupulous selling tactics and the science that proves the worthlessness of your products. However, I do have something new to add.

It has been speculated by more than one racing engineer on the forums that your products would be insufficiently durable, but there has been no way to prove this. Well, now there is at least some evidence. Check the links to YouTube videos that show one of your pulleys falling apart shortly after being put into service: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w202...ml#post3400323.

One new question: would you care to tell the forum how many different usernames you have posted under at MBWorld and how many times you have been banned from Mercedes forums?
