New key
I only have one key for my r129. How hard is it to get a replacement?

Key with transmitter
when I asked for another key it was ID verification with codes ( they looked at the car) and money, all at the a dealer. 1994 SL600. don't know about 98.

I am pretty sure that you have to go to the stealer to get a new key. i purchased one for my 2001 SL500 about 6 months ago and it cost $200

'98 SL500 R129
Hi -

I have a '98 SL500. I ordered a new key w/remote from the dealer. I took about 2 days to come in. When I picked it up, they sync'd it up for free. It took about 5 minutes. The cost was $200.
