New R129 owner
Hi all;
Hopefully picking up a 1998 SL600 tomorrow after years of wanting one
cant wait!
Figured since I live in Abu Dhabi and fuel is cheap was the perfect time to take the plunge!
Thought I best say hello as I imagine all be asking many questions on here in the future

Welcome! At any fuel price, it is a wonderful car. Mine has been a love -hate relationship, but come to reflect, almost every material object I have is in that same relationship. Maybe it is me!

Finally picked it up from my friendly MB specialist after a once over (fluids changed, couple of engine mounts, fuel pump and new bonnet sponge) oh and may have sourced some genuine AMG rims whilst it was in there (the original 16" are nice but I prefer these) 
- will get some better pics in daylight after the weekend...

I have those same wheels. Last time I priced them, they were about $800 each. I don't really have any idea as to how much they really cost though.

Welcome to the SL club - I'm envious as with the weather here in Alberta I can only enjoy driving mine for about 6 months out of the year. Currently 8 inches of snow on the ground and minus 22C as I write this.

alloywheelsdirect stock them at around 2000GBP per set, so $800 per rim sounds about right...
