1994 SL500 and 2003 E500
Unhappy Hello

I have owned a number of Mercedes over the years and I am hoping this forum would be able to help me with my 1994 SL500. I bought it wholesale a couple of years ago and drove it occasionally. Unfortunately it sat in the garage for a good three months and now it will not start despite a new battery, race gas octane booster and using a good shot of starting fluid when trying to start it. It cranks but will not turn over. That is the first problem. The second problem is when I brought the car in to get new tires, the guys broke the hex heads off three of the bolts on each side on the rear. I have tried hammering 10 and 11mm sockets on the shaft and a breaker bar with no success. Rust penetrate was used as well. Please help.

I would check for spark. There are many ways to do that; one is to use an inline tester like this one from Harbor Freight.
