Help, need cap for the gps module that goes on the trunk lid

I am in need of the plastic cap and gasket that goes on the GPS module, top of the trunk lid for 2002 SL500 R. I do not know if other R129 models are the same. Thanks all for your help.

I lost one on my 2001 SL I sold a few years ago. I located one at my local MB dealership. It cost about $80 or $90. That was 8 years ago. Good luck.

Thanks s. laz. They are a discontinued item at MB, they still sell the whole module, but it is $350+. Hoping to find someone that is parting out an R129.

Just look for a 2000 - 2002 R129 thats being parted out or junked, then you can take that piece and have a body shop paint it for you in like 1 hour

Thank you sushipaste--that is exactly what I am looking for, hoping someone here is doing that or can point me to someone who is.

I hope you locate one of these little buggers. And when you do, make sure you use some super glue when you attach it. That way it will never fall off again!

I finally located a used one at Adsit in Indiana. Pricey, buy had exhausted my search efforts.

Happy you hear you found one. Now, if I were you, I'd apply some Gorilla Glue/expoxy so it will never fall off!

As soon as it is back from being painted I plan on filling it with clear silicon.

This part seems like the sort of part which would be easy enough to get 3D printed.

Maybe have the part scanned and save the resulting file for future owners who need one made up? Just a thought...
