Hi,
Need some input and advise, I am looking at 2 SL500 both 1999 not sure which one to chose.
- Red with 80,000 miles regular package. inside is Beige color. Dealer selling $8900
- White with 130,000 miles with AMG package. Inside Black color. Private selling with service history. New soft top. Selling $8000

Which one would you chose ? I really like red color but white with AMG package look really good too.
Any advise ? thanks !

Not an expert ... but $ 900 difference and 50,000 miles less it seems like you should go red.

Neither would be considered “under used” ... so should be in good shape.

Our 1999 now has 150,000 miles on it.

Not sure if AMG package got much other than some trim & maybe suspension differences.

AMG with SL1 option package all the way. Do either cars come with Xenon headlights or heated seats?

White on black is a rare combo. AMG sport package makes it look great and it has service records and a new soft top.... miles don’t mean jack. The right choice is obvious BUY THE WHITE ONE. Also since it’s private party you can probably use legal tricks to avoid use taxes

but try to get the price down a bit and of course get a ppi

Thanks for all your replies. I will schedule test drive the coming Sunday. The AMG appearance looks nice but i really love the red color with beige indoor.
I think purchase with private will get more detail info about the particular car in service and history. (Plus comes with 2 master key and 1 spare key)

I would choose a SL1 with a black interior every day of the week and twice on Sunday over the beige interior.

Red isn't even the same game as SL1.
