SL/R129: Sat in a 2003 SL55 today

Sat in a 2003 SL55 today
In the show room at Richmond auto mall. While picking up my car from regular service.
No big deal for lots of people on this forum ... but the first chance I've sat in a R230 period.
Anyone interested in upgrading?
Used. Low mileage. Black on black. Panorama roof. Lots of leather and some sued on the dash.
Asking apparantly $160,000 Canadian + Taxes.
Very comfortable to sit in. The guages seem easier to see than on the R129. Fits me real good! I'd better start saving. I've had the itch for a while now!
I think I'll wait for a used 2005.

The edit feature allowed (but did not change the post reference?) me to correct the title year reference mistake.
I'd better get one of those SL55's befor dimensia sets in a serious way!
Stuck in the 90's as far as car model years go!

hey guys,
ive just joined the gang as i just brought an 03 SL55 Silver/berry a week ago and completely hooked.........
came from 02 M3 conv and other bmws but ive gotta say "HELL YEH"
ITS ALL GOOD......... CONVERTED BIG TIME.
il prob be asking questions soon but this UK kid is JUST ENJOYING 4 NOW.
PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL AND ALL ENJOY........................
oh yeh and the LOOKS u get from the chicks........DAMM

I was back at the dealer in Richmond this week for nore maintenance. The black SL 55 is still in the show room. There was a anneversary silver 2005 SL 55 parked outside. So one of the salesmen demoed the retractible hard top. The first time I have seen this in person. I was mezmorized.
He strated the car to let us hear the engine. It is defintily a more throatyer exaust note than the R129 SL 500.
The 2005 is $ 178,000 + Taxes.
Must start saveing now!
