SL/R129: Left directional stuck on

Left directional stuck on
I am new to this forum. I have a 92 500sl. I leave it garaged in a vaction home and I had not been able to get back for a year. I left it on a trickle charger that had failed and battery was dead.
I replaced the battery and car started and ran fine, although the AC was not working. When I shut car down the left side directional lamps remained on until I disconnected the battery
Tested all fuses, removed headlight switch and lights are still lit. It takes anywhere form a few seconds to 5 minutes after connecting the battery for the lights to come on. Lights will com on if I tap the multi function hazard, wiper relay.
They will not go off if it is tapped again. Any help would be appreciated
