500sl 1992 asr problem

Hey all,
I received my car 500sl 1992 5L a few days ago and unfortunately there are some problems.
In the car, after a few seconds or minutes, the ASR light comes on and the car goes into idle mode and the engine shuts off.
Every garage I've contacted doesn't know how to handle this model, so I'm trying to do it myself and hopefully with your help.
I don't have a code reader yet but I check on the OBD 16 pin by pressing a button which gives me the 7 blinks. I have a code booklet, but I don't know exactly which one of the 14 options the code belongs to?
If there is someone who can direct me to the problem?
The engine shakes a bit and the rpm is a little unstable, nothing serious.
If the vehicle is stationary and the accelerator pedal is pressed even then the ASR light turns on and the engine turns off.
Thanks for any help.

My best guess is the seven blinks point to a faulty CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor, RPM). It seems you have the (rare) California-only LED blinker on the socket 3 diagnosis. But I'm just guessing...

How can I know if it is offended or forged?
I measured resistance when the engine is cold and the figure around the 840 ohm
And when the engine is hot around the 80 degrees Celsius Resistance up to 920 ohm

Pls explain what "measured resistance" you refer to? Coolant temperature? Engine coolant DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) is 3 blinks but you reported having 7 blinks from socket 3 (the LED).

I mean crankshaft sensor resistance, the blinks is 7, but not from socket 3 (or at least I don't know which socket it is from).
I just pressed the whole OBD button for 3 seconds and it gave me the 7 blinks.

OK hai123, I think we are on the same page again ;-).

I can read from MB ETM (Electrical Troubleshooting Manual) L5 CPS sensor
- signal input Engine at idle > 1 VAC and the voltage raises with increasing rpm or use scope: sine wave 30 Vpp, t=0.7 msec.
- at idle Coil resistance 0.7 - 1.4 Kohm

Your measured resistance passes the latter test - however I cannot see how is it dependent on temperature? Pls be specific where you measured it. Disclaimer: I'm not very familiar with the KE Jetronic CFI (Continuous Fuel Injection).

One more remark. IMO your DTC on socket 3 (LED) and your stall description point to CPS. But possibly (?) you have another ASR fault. Could you read socket 14 DTCs with blink code reader, there could be a hint why your ASR MIL is lit?

Does anyone know if this part is supposed to get voltage even if the accelerator pedal is not pressed?
Because if you start the engine, it immediately makes a noise as if it is trying to turn.

Sorry, I was wrong. Apparently you cannot read ASR error codes from the early 16-pin diagnostics socket.
