R129 SL55 AMG & W208 CLK55 AMG
Basically, you want to bump up the power from 320hp to 380/400hp?
Hmm, tough one, what are the chances you can get hold of a 6.0 or a 5.0 AMG M119 engine? Because bumping up the power by 80hp is not easy if you want to go naturally aspirated.

Hi & thanks for your reply.
I was thinking that AMG start with the 5 liter sl engine as a base.
I know they built up the suspension & brakes but what I really want to know is what they do to that base 5 liter engine
re pistons, bore, cams, etc to turn it into a 6 liter with the increased torque & hp.
I don't know whether this model was available in the USA, in Europe & Australia it was badged as SL60 AMG. Pics attached

The SL60 has the same breaks like the standard ones. I would try to search at "Einführungsschrift SL60" to find some dokumentation about the differences. Or, in short words: Forget it, much to complicated.

It's actually really simple. Go buy an SL60 or call Renntech. Renntech has a classic division that will modify your car as you wish.
