Dashboard issue - short circuit

Hi!
SL500 1997, Florida origin, currently in Toronto.
Have an issue with dashboard after replacing Dome Light.
Dashboard shows Rollbar and Brake lights. The rest is dead.
Battery discharges to 0 within 4 days - there is a short circuit.
Wisher is working fast
No turn signals
When ignition is on, after 30 seconds radiator fan starts
Famous capacitor on Dashboard replaced
Current situation:
1. Relay 1408207626 disconnected
2. Dome light disconnected
3. Fuse 10 is OK
4. Ticking noise (like relay) in passenger seat area.
Still same behavior.
Please help

So, in addition to replacing the overhead console light (dome?), you also replaced the dashboard capacitors in the same repair?

Look at the other fuses, too. There is more than one fuse for the dashboard.

After dismounting the dome light, I tried to start a car and saw the issue with dashboard.
Googled, found that it may be an issue with capacitor and replaced capacitors - it didn't help.

Checked all fuses on the left side - all OK.
Any idea what can make ticking noise in the passenger area?

Not familiar with your issue but these types of issues are generally a bad grounding. Check for that. Also hopefully you were paying attention to the polarity of the cap's put in as aluminum caps are generally polarized. You will need to do fuse removal one by one and checking for current in each circuit to see what is the culprit by connecting/disconnecting elements of that circuit. The relay issue might be a bad ground causing the relay to be in a bad state.

There are the relay for seat movement. But check the fuses, again. And then, check the fuses in the trunk. Sorry, but what you report is so typical for a blown fuse after a short inside the dome light. Typical, the ADS will move to the highest position now, too.

Thank you! What does it mean "the ADS will move to the highest position"?

I know this is an old post and the problem most likely is fixed

On my 1993 300 SL the map lights are not regular light bulbs.
The map lights on the 1992 are kind of halogen light bulbs.

I bunch of years ago ii reolaced the map lights with eregular light bulbs with the result that the instrument panel lit up like a christmas tree.

I do not think i have replaced the dome light, only the map lights on my car.

I remember i did change a light bulb in the map lights several years ago and the instrument panel/gauge cluster lit up like a christmas tree.
