Need a tire recommendation // 92 500SL
I need some new rubber for my 92 500 SL. SoCal car, summer most of the year, little rain. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm using the new Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 for my 18" staggered rims, and they're excellent! Got top of the Tire Rack poll too. The survey results and a bunch of other information is here: http://tinyurl.com/5ldzy

For my mom's 500, I put one some Falken ZE512's in 225/50/15, and they are great! I really like the way the car handles with those tires. I'm in SoCal too (LBC) so we kinda have the same weather. And I only paid like 350 for the tires, and all I had to do was get them mounted and balanced myself for 35 bucks. So a total of like 385, and that's total... no tax :p
And I don't believe in winter tires/wheels, so these get driven all year long :p
And for those of you wondering why I had 225/50's put on rather than the stock 225/55's, it's cause my mom isn't really a cautious driver and has yanked out the lip of the wheel well a couple times, and the last time chipped of a good 2-3 inches of paint =( So I dropped on some thinner tires. And they also make the car look meaner, the lowered stance, ahhhh.... sexy.

Teal 92 500SL,
Don't overlook the Michelin Pilot Sport, in your size, also available from Tire Rack. Why do I say this; as you will see from my posting, I have a Dodge Viper, and drive it on the track at 140+ mph.
This is the only tire that The Viper Club of America will allow on street Vipers competing at Viper Club sponsored track events across the country. An excellent tire-maybe a little pricey.
My '92 500SL has: 225x55x16.
Good luck,
Don

I have been using Perrilli P-Zero rosso on my car and have been very satisfied with them
