SL/R230: Sirius Radio
My dealer said he would install my sirius radio like in LovinSL600, but I have to get the antenna.
So I called Sirius today, and they offer me a lifetime subscription for $499.99. I asked them if I could get credit for the one-year sirius subscription that you get when you get the radio from Mercedes, and they said no problem. My new price with credit would be $356 for life. It is only life up to 3 receiver replacements.
But that is a better deal than purchasing a 4-year subscription.
I honestly don't get why MB makes different Comand units for different parts of the world
When I get back from Star Tech in Cary, NC, I will post pictures on my antenna. It is setup likes lovinSL600 except I got the custom bracket.

The Nashville dealer order the Sirius mini, adaptor, and antenna extension.
I just do not understand why Sirius will pause every now and then on the open interstate.
I love station 75. I have been playing a lot of Frank Sinatra.

When you say "open interstate" do you mean open for miles, or open for a brief time? There are three Sirius satellites, however only two are broadcasting at a given time. Of the two that are, one is live and one is delayed 9 seconds. That way if you have both feeds, then when you encounter an obstruction, it can change to the delayed signal, and then back to the live one so that you would not percieve any difference. I have noticed times when the transition isn't perfect.
I visit Duke University today and drove through canopy of trees with no signal loss. I do not think trees block the signal. I noticed that buildings or man made stuff block the signal. I did loose the signal when I drove through the mountain tunnels around Ashville, NC.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The only time when trees affected my Sirius signal is when I was at the Biltmore Estate in Ashville. I was on a narrow one-way road that is a little wider than one car width with 5 story high pines trees on both side of the road. The trees were so close together that you could not even walk between them. Leaves do not affect the signal.
Dealer ordered everything and just charge me $1,106.67. I even purchased the lifetime Sirius subscription for $357.47
