Thanks Steve; those are actually the stock alloy wheels that come on the SL600-i really like them; I wonder what your 2006 will have?

I really like your wheels. Mine were the AMG package wheels, but remember I ordered a 2005 model, but have a 2006 one coming...so we could be in for a surprise. Who really knows? Not even MBZ I suspect. Congrats!!!!

Jeeeeeez no matter how many times you can look at a SL, it looks ABSOLUTLEY beautiful in every single angle.

I don't think I've ever been in love with any other car. Same with a lot of us here, which is why, although the problems with the car, we still keep coming back! :x

Looks Great!

Looks Great!

I recommend taking that wind screen off the rear roll bar, it can actually cause more damage to the parts it's attached to than do any practical good.

Is that hard to do, and do most others do so as well?

Should come off Easy

I never use it, it should come off easy, your manual should have simple instructions if you can't figure it out by looking at it. Mine is in a storage closet in the original bag it came in. I have read numerous posts over time in the forum about people complaining about damage it causes to the interior parts it is attached to.

Removing Windscreen

Page 203 of Manual

Removing
Fold the upper section of the wind
screen back down.
Raise the roll bar slightly ( page 73).
1 Release button
Undo the buckles on the upper section
of the roll bar by pressing release
button1.
Lower the roll bar. Make sure the fastening
straps do not get caught.
Pull the wind screen out towards the
front of the vehicle. Be careful not to
damage interior trim with the guide
tabs.
Place the wind screen back into the
bag.

SL55 AMG
Agree with Stephen about the wind screen. I had mine on for an afternoon two years ago, found it marked the leather around the roll bar and it's been in its bag ever since. The problem is that there are pressure points around the fixing straps which lead to indentations in the leather. It would have been much better if they had distributed the pressure with some pads. There's the exact same issue with the rear-shelf bag; its plastic feet leave indentations in the leather covering the rear storage box lids.
