Got 2005 SL500
After weeks of Yes and No, bought the 2005 - SL500. Picking it up this afternoon, can't wait.
Silver/Ash/Keyless/Comfort/Trim/AMG Pack from "Uniquely San Francisco" dealer for wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy below MSRP.

$17K below MSRP, so $85 plus tax. It is indeed a different experience as compared to CLK, unbelievable is the Word.

I'll bite. $17k off MSRP, where is this "dealer"? I'd take a long weekend to the Bay area. I'm looking for one, but the prices I got so far were around invoice. Pretty much the same setup you have, maybe w/ parktronic.

they have 9 left and they will do $15K below MSRP, I spoke to David ****.
Or speak to Alan @ SF Benz, he had 3 left as of 10/2. I bought from Alan for $17 below MSRP. I guess he will only do it if you are ready to go and buy the same day you call him.

Brilliant Silver v/s Iridium Silver
If you are considering SL in Silver, I think 2005 Brilliant Silver (now discontinued) is better than Iridium Silver (introduced in 06 models). Just my personal opinion.
There are a few 2005 Brilliant Silver around for sale, now would be a great time to compare both side by side - if you like Silver.

I didn't know that about the silver. I just checked it at MBUSA. Iridium looks like a cross between Grey and Bril Sil. Has anyone seen this new color in person?

Iridium silver is pretty close to brilliant silver, but to my eye, has more metallic flake in it. It is the new and improved version of brilliant silver.
