I did the RENNTECH upgrade in my SL600!!!
well, finally got my car back yesterday after they did the ECU / TT upgrade- it was a little wet down here in Socal, so i couldn't quite push it...nontheless when i got into some dry areas inland, i had some fun. Thus far, here are my observations - definitely feel that there is much less lag between takeoff's and gear shifts and also much smoother-it's amazing how much faster it feels like it gets to 60. Also, it seems effortless when i am on the freeway at 80, and i am at 100 in no time...much different than before (although it's not like it was a struggle before the upgrade). I need to do more driving to have a better idea of what it can do. The other thing is that previously, if i went between C and S modes, there was no manual mode, whereas after the upgrade, the M mode comes up as a separate one from C and S. So is that the best one to drive in?

1) Does the car drive differently in comfort mode than it did before the modification?
2) Did the modification alter the throttle response? I find that in my unmodified car that the response to my input on the gas pedal is not linear, and if I put he pedal to the metal (WOT, I presume) something intervenes to keep me from taking off like a rocket. However, if I gradually increase pressure on the gas pedal, acceleration builds smoothly.

very nice; my gas mileage has plummetted!!!, but it's a thrill!!!! long live RENNTECH....
Around 23 highway.....was around 20 before. Maybe on the 5.4 it's due to them really leaning us out on the ECU.
Glad you like the Renntech....someday I am gonna try them out.

yah, its been a few days since my dad did the renntech upgrade on the Sl600 as well. you can certainly feel a HUGE difference during take off and pick up. RennTech reps. came to the dealership today because my dad said the car didn't have enough torque, so they came to check it out and to finally get our badge. I don't know the status, of the car.
but none the less, tear that thing apart!
