End of thread.
Hahah thats laughable... so you are saying walk into the dealer and bend over and ask them to stick it in REAL hard??!!
Here is the bottome line.. the luxury car market is SATURATED... to many choices.. and lets face facts MB's are getting hammered in the resale market.
Take for instance a SL600... you can get a low mile mint 2005 for $95-98 at RETAIL.. so thats a $40k hit in one year.
Ill bet you my I can get 2007 SL550 at invoice ANY day of the week... MY dealer offer me $15k off a SL55 without blinking an eye.

SL Pricing
Gee, no further word from Skirby. Wonder if he made an offer on the SL!
What's a couple thousand $ when the sun is shining and you "really want it?"

Do you mind me asking what you paid for it? I am looking at the 50th Anniversary SL Roadster also. I have got it down to 93K plus TTL. You can PM me if you would rather...
Thanks

The engine is very responsive, without hesitation. I hardly touched the gas petal and I was doing almost 80 on the highway. It's not recommended to go faster than that during the break-in period, 1000 miles.
The brakes feel somewhat soft to me, compared to my 750i BMW. The car has bluetooth connectivity (with the $350 module), navigation and satellite radio. When I'm in the car, I feel like I'm in a very special place. I've never had this feeling with any other car. It's a piece of artwork on wheels.

Markup
Is there a 7% markup on this model, or was I given incorrect information?
Most websites, like Edmunds, show a 7% markup. Perhaps the dealers are getting something back from the factory.

Hi Folks,
I just picked up a SL550 (101K MSRP) two days ago. I just wanted to see if you guys thought I got a decent deal.
I supposedly got the cap cost down to invoice (at least what was listed on edmunds.com at around 93k.
Here is what I got:
27 month term
7500 mi/yr
10k down (including TTL)
1234.35 / month
And yes, I would also like to comment that the smoothness and power is amazing!!!

My 03 SL cost me $900/month (over 2 years) in a cash purchase
My 05 SL cost me $1090/month (over 2 years) in a cash purchase
My company's accountant just never saw the sense in my leasing an SL. And my 07 SL was a cash deal as well.
In any case, enjoy the car! Near perfect in every way, IMHO.

Lease Calculator
Try this:
http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm
The dealer is probably adding back the gas guzzler tax and an advertising charge to the invoice price. I estimated a cap cost of $84,500, a 70% residual because of the low miles, an 8% interest rate and a 6% sales tax. You need all these variables to compute the lease cost.

2006 SL500 iridium/charcoal keyless, bi-xenon, AMG
That sounds about right. I think I was quoted in the 1600-1800 range with nothing (Tax,lic,1st) down and ~4k off msrp.
I just got an 06 (102k msrp) for 16k off:
27 months
10k miles
$3500 down
1294/month
As much as I'd love the 80 extra horses, I'm saving ~$300/month.

2007 SL550, 2008 S65, Golf cart and a few non-MB vehicles

We just got a new SL550 and got $3000 off the MSRP of $106,755. MB has a margin of just under 7% so we felt we received a fair deal.
