Carbon Fiber Hood and Trunk now Available!
We are happy to finally have a carbon fiber hood and trunk out for all you enthusiasts or carbon fiber lovers. The quality of these parts are top notch. I'd love to see one of these on an SL with it painted to fade into the rest of the cars paint job!

How dare you mention cops in the same vein as the SL. I look over my shoulder enough already! 
On the color matching though, I think the white SL would look badass with the CF hood, roof panels and trunk lid... especially if they did a fade job on the edges of the hood and trunk.
In my mind though, the prices for carbon fiber pieces aren't justified when you're only saving about 30lbs on a car that weighs over 4200lbs already! It reminds me of designer running shoes... too expensive for the "extra cool" design.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts took my license for four years, back in 1994 or 1995, for being a "habitual traffic offender", so I know where you're coming from. I think my ticket total by age 24 was somewhere in the 30's. Zero accidents, just tickets. Funny thing is I don't drive at all differently here in CA than I did in MA, and I've only gotten 3 tickets in 11+ years.
Sh*t, I know better than to say things like that out loud. Here comes #4.

Oh, I know about tickets. My ticket count has been low, but most are like 15mph over and some even worse. Get enough of those and your insurance company just loves you. I was paying over $400 per month at one point. Thank god those days are basically behind me now. I still like to push it, but these days I know where and when I can get away with it. Otherwise, I'm just one of the other dead-headed boy scouts on the road.
Speaking of boy scout drivers, I'm sure I'm not the only one who screams when a cop is travelling with traffic going 5-10 under and no one wants to pass him even though it is legal because every one wants to be a "good boy".

If there's ever a time you don't want to be the "lone antelope", that's it. One of the things I like about it here in Northern CA... Numerous times I've seen Chippers tooling along at 80mph (in 65mph zones) on the freeways, perfectly content to let the pack tail them at that speed. It seems like 80mph on the open highway is their threshold, beyond which they lose leniency. We've got a beautiful stretch of highway here between San Francisco and San Jose (280) where the slow people typically drive 70 and 80-85 is the norm. It's pretty easy to drop 5mph when a cruiser comes into sight. I figure as long as I stick to that things should stay ok. My top speed running days are (mostly) behind me. I was quite fond of my good driver discount until my accident in Aug. Can't wait to get it back in 3 yrs.
