I have a 2003 SL 500 but I can not locate my manual. I would appreciate if someone could let me know how to reset the tire pressure monitor system. Where is the reset button. Much thanks..
The only reset button I know of is the temporary one in the center of the gauge display..
My pressure monitor error message is back also... The dealer replaced 3 of my sensors (in the wheel) and it was fine for the last 6-7 months...
The pressure gauges seem to work, but I get that error... If there is a hard reset button, that would be great.

I don't think there is one. I had the error show on my 2003 SL500. They had to replace the tire pressure monitor control unit to correct the problem.

Crap, is that whats going on? Mine started last week, and its
intermittent. I was curious as to how (if you can) reset the
computer, because my tire pressure is fine. Off to the dealer....
Again!!

On the '05s, the reset is buried in the steering wheel submenus.

Correct, all SL's that have the computerized TPM system can reset the values via the Sub Menu on the steering wheel. Once you do this you will need to drive the car for 10-20 minutes before the values come back.Originally Posted by WIldcat465

I believe this is done by pressing the following buttons on the steering wheel:
1) Toggle the application button till the display is on the odometer.
2) Press the up arrow
3) Press the reset button in the middle of the display (little black stick)
4) Press the + button to reset the tire pressure monitor
In the interest of full disclosure, I am having the same problem as mentioned in the start of this thread. This "reset" doesn't fix my issue. Need to take it in for service.
