SL/R230: Do any SLs play CDs with MP3s?

Do a search on this forum for DVD MP3.
2005 SLs (USA specs) can play MP3 CDs + MP3 DVDs using the in-dash single player. MP3s will not work in the 6-disc CD changer.
2006 SLs (USA specs) can play MP3 CDs + MP3 DVDs using the in-dash single player. In addition, MP3 CDs can be played in the 6-disc CD changer.
It has been reported that the MP3-capable 6-disc CD changer used in 2006 SLs is a drop-in replacement for the 2005 CD changer.
I don't know about the MP3-related capabilities of the 2007 SLs.

The curiosity question now becomes: Can the 2007 SL's 6-disc changer serve as a drop-in replacement for the 2005-2006 SL's changer (in order to gain MP3 DVD capability in the changer)? If so, you can have well over 4000+ song/music selections available!

Yesterday evening, a neighbor of mine tried playing an MP3 DVD in the 6-disc changer of his new 2007 SL550 and it would not recognize the disc. He then tried an MP3 CD and it worked fine in the 6-disc changer. The same MP3 DVD + the same MP3 CD worked fine using his in-dash player. Sounds like he needs to get a new/updated 6-disc changer.
The curiosity question now becomes: Can the 2007 SL's 6-disc changer serve as a drop-in replacement for the 2005-2006 SL's changer (in order to gain MP3 DVD capability in the changer)? If so, you can have well over 4000+ song/music selections available!

I just went and checked both my 6-disc and dash unit and I was wrong. I have a MP3 DVD in the dash unit and MP3 CD's in the 6-disc. I did attempt to play the MP3 DVD's in the 6-disc and you are correct as my unit doesn't recognize the disc.
Sorry for the misleading info as I should have checked prior to posting
