SL/R230: Went to the dragway with my SL550
My friends and I were very impressed with the numbers. I was expecting high 13's.

Curious, you have a couple of AMG's what made you go for the 550 over the 55? Given the increase in HP the 550 seems like a good compromise when compared with spending an additonal $25~30K US on a 55 that around here (Bay Area, CA) not sure how often I could really enjoy the extra power.
I had a big block Chevelle many, many years ago in high school that only turned low 13's (couldn't hook up well). Very impressive for a luxury roadster!

The great thing about this 550 is that in any temp you can just mash the gas and the car just takes off with hardly any traction issues, it will run the same times over and over again just by mashing the gas to the floor.

She really goes well, and the sport package looks fantastic in white, with those cool clear lights out back, nice together, i'll get some photos up soon as I'm able.
Noticed many posts on AMG and V12 cars, where are the sl550 people, and where's the years worth of information/experiences?
Feel like I have much to learn about the car, learn how to get the most out of it, dont think i am.
You know she does 60 in just 4.8 seconds, only half a second behind the big boys!
Oh i remember now, so many posts dedicated to supermerc upgrades, does anyone have power upgrades for the sl550 motor? I think it's pushing 383 hp as is, must be a way to squeze out 15% more.
Would like to sharpen up the shift changes too, seems to be unecessarily long lag, perhaps i need to experiment with the C/S button.
I have so many questions! Be great to find many already answered so you guys dont have to go over it again, just point me to the posts, tanx
