I will ask friday. I'm having an AMG front & rear bumper plus side skirts put on my SL600. I needed the AMG rear bumper to accomodate Eisenman 4 tip exhaust being installled and wanted it all to match. I got the front and rear skirt back. They used some parts off it on the old skirt. The fog lights are different on the new skirt but they are tossed for HID xenon fogs also being installed. Pick up is Friday. I went to a shop that had done it before.

hey kokanee. just to be clear, are you putting an 07' sl55 or 65 amg bumper on your 05' sl600? did you have the amg bumpers on your 05 sl?

i want to upgrade my 05' sl500 to the 07' sl55 amg front bumper, but its hard finding info about it. i dont have the amg package on mine. keep us posted.

do you still have the 07 fog lights?

apparently you need the 07...front bumper...2 outer grills...middle grill...upper grill...and lastly the fogs. might need to trim the stuff behind the bumper slightly to get it to fit. is there any difference from the pre 06 rear bumper or side skirt if they were sport? i didn't think there was??

The rear bumper on a sport and a true AMG is diffrent. The cut
outs for the exhaust are wider on the AMG and the black portion
is an actual mesh grill instead of a black piece of plastic.

The SL600 had no sport or amg bumpers.
It started out that I wanted a better exhaust sound and the AMG 4 oval tip style. To do that I had to replace the rear bumper or cutout the bumper. The AMG rear bumper has a lip around the bottom which wouldn't line up with the 600 front bumper and side skirts. So I elected to go with a factory take off AMG sport package for R230. This is front, rear, side including new hella fogs.
Turned out the take off rear skirt didn't line up right with my car so they had to buy a factory AMG rear skirt (with the mesh).
They installed the Eisenman race performance exhaust with the 4 oval tips. The factory AMG skirt fit it perfectly.
The original grill is still installed. The old fogs were removed and the new ones installed with an HID upgrade. Big improvement.
I went to a number of places before I found one that has done it before. I was quite reasured to see a shop full with M5's 997's MB's all done up. At least this way the wrong rear skirt wasn't my problem or expense.
The Eisenman exhaust sounds great. Not loud enough for some but much better than the stock 600 exhaust (think singer sewing machine sounds). In hindsight I think I would have stayed with the AMG front bumper ,as well as the rear, instead or the sport. While much better than the 600 bumper its not as nice as the AMG bumper.
