The clock's time didn't change when the time change occured...

I am assuming it's because the car doesn't have the updated program to allow for the newest change the EST/DST times?

But if it's getting time signals from the GPS sats why doesn't it correct it when it sees 1 hour discrepancy? I set it manually but am wondering why I had to do it that way. I only drove about 16 miles today and saw no change in the time, how often does the clock check the GPS birds for a time update?

If I need an update for the clock program to change with the 'new' times IS there one available for my 2003 SL 500?

Thanks,

J T

Not so sure the GPS sats would help as its likely that some sats would be visible from more than one time zone. The navigation program would have to have the time zone info programmed into it. The DVD nav on our MB's seems at least a few years behind what the Japanese are doing. My one minor ***** about the MB's!

Mine did not change. it took about 15 minutes for me to figure out how to change it, with the owners' manual in my lap. Last time it was changed was at the dealership- it took three different technicians to figure it out.

I had to manually override mine. The satellite GPS time signal is absolute time, it has to be interpreted based on the local time zone programmed into the car (unlike a cellphone time signal, which knows the location). The car (2003 in my case) has selections for various timezones, and also for "automatic DST". However, the automatic DST was programmed with the old changeover dates. It should be possible to fix with a patch to the software, but I haven't heard anything about MBUSA providing such a patch (Most computer vendors did).

I switch mine to "manual DST" during the window between the old and new changeover dates. I do have to tell it I'm one timezone off from where I am - some systems have off/on/auto for DST, but afaik the MB one only has off/auto.

Mine changes but it was a week off. I assumed it was because the the weekend of the changed was moved.
