I had it done by a dealer for my 06 SL, plus the shift knob. So, it's the same as the 318 wood option. Looks great...IMHO.Originally Posted by bw53

I would suggest it. Mine came factory, but its a great
look, and prevents wear from showing on the steering
wheel and shift knob.

I definitely love the wood/leather wheel and shift knob, (318 Trim Pkg.). I have Keyless Go within the knob as well. The package listed new in 05 for $770.00. It really differentiates the vehicle. If I never had Keyless Go, I would never miss it, but since I have it, I would not buy another car without it.

Not only does it look very nice but the feel of the wood steering wheel in your hands is really fabulous! Highly recommended!

My wood grain steering wheel is comfortable, looks great, but it is cracking. there are severial fine lined cracks along the top of the steering wheel.

My leather stitching was unraveling and my dealer replaced it with a new wheel. If it is an original MB wheel and you are still under warranty, I would try for a new one.
