Hey CY, have you found rims for your 6-series yet? I am planning on going with the beyern baroque. Have you seen those? Give me your opinion, do you think i should go with 20's or 22's? Also, i do not know if i should get the wheels black with a chrome lip or brushed aluminum. What do you think?

06CLK350:
In regards to the 6'er wheels: I am so mixed. I love the ride with the stock sport package 19's but at first was so sure I would go staggered 22's with a 5 inch rear lip; but due to the lack of a spare tire on the 6'er I sort of want run flats- plus I am so sick of the bumpy lowered ride in the SL even with the ABC. This is literally the first time in my life I didnt run out and get wheels right away for my new car...lol. I feel that some 20's look too small while some 22's look too large...yet most 21's fit just perfect. When applying 22's most say it needs to be droppe due to the 4X4 lifted look, but I really dont want to lower this car after dealing with so many lowered cars in the past. I am not too sure about the beyern's since I havent checked them out yet, but if I do anything it will probably be a brushed center with chrome lip.

The strange thing is even without the mods I am really happy with the 6'er so far.

I really enjoy the 650 the way it is also, but after putting rims on my range rover, i feel that the 650 would look much better with rims. I am also worried about pot holes because as you know hollywood and beverly hills are full of them. Therefore i am considering 20s with a slight drop just to make sure the car doesnt seem high. Everytime i see 22's on a 650, i feel that they are way to big therefore i am leaning towards the 20's that sometimes feel too small. I know 21's are perfect but these rims arent made in that size. What do you think i should go with on a white car, brushed or black? Also, yesterday i took out the 650 and had my friend take out my 335i so we go for a quick run and the 335 pulled on my by a few car lengths at first but by the 3rd race he was only half a car in front of me. Have in mind that the 335 was rolling on a quarter tank and the 650 was on a full tank.

Well White with black wheels looks isane but is almost too showy...you already have the F-car if you want to really cause a scene. I would go brushed with a chome lip especally if I want going 22. Also I wouldnt worry about the 3 pulling on your 6. The 6 is a flagship bottom line.

I am honestly worried about going with 22's because i am somewhat a crazy driver. I do not feel like going to the repair shop every month because of the dents. As far as the 3 pulling on the 6, i will not rest until i beat that car. It should be doing better then the 3 in my opinion.

The 6 series is heavy. I don't think it is going to beat a 335.....335's are almost as fast as M3's when modded (so I have heard). That is why they have been so popular. If you wanted a fast one, I would have gotten the M6. I almost bought a white with black interior M6 convertible Thursday but they sold it the night before (of course).

I actually believe the 6 should be able to out run the 3 becuase even though it is heavy, it still has more power put into it. As for the m6, well lets just say that is another mistake i made. I notice that i get to excited and settle for anything at the time when it comes to getting a new car. For my s550, i wish it was a 63 and for my 650, well once again, i wish it was a m6.

hahaha...I do the same thing

Also I would try to find some 21's that suit your tastes since I think 21's sit so well on the 6'er that it doesnt need to be lowered as desperately.

Cy, how does your 650 compare with the SL in terms of power? I know it has more torque and HP than the SL....but is it noticeable?

I was comparing the M6 and 650 convertible....and really the only differences are 20 lbs of torque and obviously the 140 HP is big....but the weights are the same. In other words, I would bet the 650 is pretty darn fast.

I'm like you guys....I am an impulse buyer. The M6 happened to be local but I am not sure I need one enough that I am going to fly to FL or CA to get one....in that event I would just get a 650i and save $30k.

Ive driven the 645ci, 650i and M6....M6 is worth the dough if youre coming from an AMG car. Since I have (extended my lease for my gf) a regular SL the regular non-///M 6'er does feel a bit faster but not by much. I personally love the extra size of the 6 over the SL that I really dont drive the SL anymore unless the 6'er is real dirty etc. Drive them both and make your decision based on how long you willl keep the car...and how much the extra HP is worth it to you.
