Golf Clubs in trunk....top down???
With my golf bag, I can't put it in the trunk and have enough room to put the top down. Not an ideal situtation. I'm happy to get a smaller bag, if it will solve the problem. Does anyone have a bag that fits in the trunk and allows for a top-down drive???

Golf bag
My bag (regular size cart bag) goes in okay if I take the driver and three wood out of the bag and put them in the trunk separately. To put the top down, I have to take all the woods out of the bag and put them in the trunk separately, but when I do the top goes down fine. It is not ideal, but works.

My son and I both get our stand up bags in the SL55. Top down.
I think he needs to pull his new driver out. But both bags and shoes
fit without issue. Now I could see where Rodney Dangerfields bag
from Caddie Shack is not going to make it. But most cloth bags should
make it.

2 bags and a cart!
Two normal size(14 club) bags and 1 simple pull cart fit tightly with top down. Take wheels off cart but are included. I can't hit driver so it stays home. Wife 5' so her clubs are on the short side. I'm only 5'8" too. My bag is a Sun Mtn cross bag with legs but full size for electric cart fit. PS bought a push cart that is too big but fits nicely behind seats as wife likes her seat somewhat close to dash. but not full forward or exaggerated, just her normal position.

When we were looking at cars, I remember hubby saying that the SL was specifically designed to fit golf clubs. Or maybe he said that to justify the car. Anyway, he is 6'6" and has custom clubs and he can fit 2 bags and takes his drivers out. Of course, his Club Glove travel bag will not fit (even I could fit in that thing) but regular stand up bags will fit just fine.

Ok thanks for all the replies. Ill have to play with it. I have a regular callaway cart bag, and the bottom of the bag always seems to prevent the trunk cover thingy from closing. I wonder if someone could post a pic or two of their bag in the trunk.

I have the ping bag for a cart. I couldnt put another bag in with it though. I put the driver, 3 wood and the 16 degree rescue behind the front seats. The smaller bags should alow 2 as has been said.

This was a major concern before we bought our first R230. The key is to put your bag in with the bottom of the bag on the left side, as you look at it, and the clubs on the little "shelf" on the right side. This drops the bottom of your bag to the bottom of the trunk, and makes it easy to close the cover.
I only have to take the driver out of the second bag, if I am putting two bags in the trunk. Both my wife and I have the Sun Mountain "Speed Cart Bags" (not as small as "carry bags") and we have no problem fitting them both in, with our shoes, jackets, etc, and putting the top down.
