SL/R230: Lost out twice now

Lost out twice now
I've been looking for a good 2005 SL 500 for about three months now and have been beat twice. by a matter of minutes.I thought the economy was in the crapper? The latest, I called this morning to get the service records. After getting the records, I called the bank. I called the dealer back about 90 minutes later to tell him I wanted the car and it was already sold.

Which economy? There are 2 economies, 1 for the wealthy and 1 for the poor... the poor economy is now slowing down, that's true, while the rich are getting richer and giving you more competition (for luxury cars, mansions, yachts, etc.) Sorry about your 2 losses but things happen in life for a reason (though we may never know the reason and we can't control it all) so don't worry too much about it, just get back on the (eBay) horse since there are plenty of fish (SL's) in the sea

The car you posted had very low miles and a popular colour combo, so its not surprising to see it move, do you know what the actual final bid was?
I'm sure you know currently there are approximately 50 others for sale on ebay, so the supply is not limited, especially with all the 05s coming off lease. Good luck and keep us posted.

They sold it for asking price of 58,750 in less than two hours.
Thanks for your notice on your 03, but I want an 05 or 06.
I'm not that picky about color, I just don't want black exterior or interior and no Mars Red.

CPO 2005 Desert Silver / Stone, AMG Sport, Parktronic and Keyless Go, 17,500 miles. Just got in from driving it home. I'm not in love with the chrome sport wheels but it has new Conti Contact 3s so I'll live with them for a while.
Since this came up unexpectedly while I was on a business trip, I didn't have my camera so this sub standard cell phone pic will have to suffice for now.
I also had to wear the same clothes for three days.

Asking price was 59, Final price was in the low 50s.
