My dealer stated, "in order to qualify me for a certain interest rate, I HAVE TO GET LO JACK installed for $1200." Now MB already has something similar to that, and where I usually drive/Park, I really don't need overkill in theft deterrant. Can they force me to take that? Also, is it possibly true that MB Credit Corp forces you to take Lo Jack in order to qualify for better interest rates?? I put in a call to MBNA and they told me to call MBCC. I called MBCC, and they told me to call MBNA. I'm frustrated, and hesitant to move forward with the Lo Jack appt. I would rather them credit me for a hands free phone system or something.

I wouldn't think you have to get Lo Jack, and if you had to i wouldn't think that YOU would have to pay, it'd be them paying. Thats very odd. You'll have to get a second opionon on this tho.

Total scam...what a cheap shot to get a few more hundred bucks in their pocket after already charging high $ for you to buy the car. MB already has a locator device installed, why would you need another one? Call their bluff and tell them you found another dealer that doesn't have that requirement and see how fast they back off.

U want the car and nothing else, no low jack(who needs 2 locators) no under coating or anything other than whats on the window sticker. If they insist u pay the documentation fee of $189 and certainly no advertising fee. They are the scum of the world , lying is second nature to them to close a deal and rip u off. Check there rate against the banks and make sure they plug all the numbers in the loan or lease properly. Be a aware and agressive buyer, dont be screwed, and laugh at them for trying to insist on u buying lo-jerk-me-off.

Total scam. Go to another dealer who is honest. There are plenty of SL 500's available. If the dealer thinks that LoJack is an essential device, have them install one for no cost. After all it probably costs them only a couple of hundred dollars, if that much and the markup on SL's certainly covers that.
