DIY Trunk Flap Repair
Hope this link works. I replaced myself - $58 parts from dealer (incl tx) and about 20 minutes. Thanks to NikleinR6!

Check the link above - post #26. The trick is getting the flap TIGHT up against the trunk lid before you attach the new bracket. Might have to fiddle a bit with the adjustment nut to make sure the teeth are aligned. Good luck!

Hi there guys. a friend is having a similar issue. He has an 04 SL500 and the two smaller flaps came off. The place where they attach on the lafter and right boot sections is broken. Will this rebuild kit replace those pieces? Any ideas would help me help him.

I found the same thread as robdog

It's an awesome proceedure! I ordered the part from parts.com, cost $48.99 with CA tax and shipping When you order it says Qty 1 but you are getting two brackets in the order. Took me 25 min on first side (reading, thinking, tool collection), then less than 10 for the second!
The stronger brackets P/N 2307500111 are all you need! I inspected the ones I removed and there was a slight bend in them, allowing the gears to slip!

Mercedes 320 clk convertible w208
W208 convertible side flap part missing
On my Mercedes clk convertible w208 This is missing on drivers side don’t know what it’s called
This is the part I’m after any help would be great thanks
I have an 03 SL500 and sometimes, when closing the roof, the flaps that are folded up under the trunk lid drop a bit and stops the tops operation. They fold out when the top is down and no issues.
Seems like the only time it ever happens is when I am on a date or pulling up in the valet line at a busy restaraunt. Wonder if she is getting jealous.
Is there something I need to tighten to keep this from happening? Read through the threads and didn't see another post like this. Trust I'm not the only one.
