SL600 vs Z06
In a 1/4 mile run at the drag strip, which car would you expect to win???
SL600 (STOCK) vs. Z06
SL600 (RENNTECH) vx. Z06

C6 Z06's have run high 10s in the 1/4 mile, e.g. http://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-C...lip-14084.html. No SL600 Renntech has yet posted a time as fast as that.
However it's a lot trickier to launch a Z06 cleanly so in any given head-to-head race an SL600 could possibly outrun a C6 Z06.
FWIW....

My Opinion
My Opinion without any personal racing experience against one, is that the vette would win, high HP, and very low weight especially against a VERY HEAVY V12 Benz.

I think you answered your own questions. Based on the HP and weight ratio the Z06 would take it in the 1/4 mile. But, I'd much rather have an SL600 (especially with Renntech mods) over a vette. I've owned a C5 and presently have an SL500. Other than the speed differential (which day-to-day in the US doesn't matter anyway), the Mercedes SL isa much better car.

Is there anyway to know if my 2004 SL600 has any ECU upgrades? I bought it just over a year ago with about 40k miles.
I have played with a few Z06s and never had a problem pulling away from them at spotlights or on the freeway. Sometimes it is close, but I never see their rear end.
I've videotaped my 0-60 and it is right at 4.0-4.1 seconds without traction on. I thought this was normal until I started to read this thread.
Is there any thing I can look at to see if the ECU has been modified?

"Honest officer I was just checking to see if my speed limiter was still in place."
I have seen the 160s very briefly before so I guess that means ECU has been modified.
Its my first MB, so I have nothing to compare it to. The power is just amazing to me, but up until now I thought it was normal for SL600s.
Thanks for the tip !
