Nice mod. There was another SL prefacelift for sale with the same mod to it. I don't remember the total cost for it, but if it's approximately $8-10k, it's definitely worth it. Keeps the car looking very current.

Looks 100% the same.
Does this bumper really fits instead of old or there are lots of seperate small details that have be changed also?
So he has just to change the back bumper and it will be brand new sl

is it just me or does that seems to be too much cash to blow on a car that will be completely re-designed in a couple of years? 12k plus about another 3k for paint and install = $15k

im not hating on anyone. i upgraded my front bumper last year and it cost me $3k but i will at least get about 4 years out of it. $15k for about 2 years is just a waste. why not save or invest that cash and buy the new Sl in 2011/12!

I guess that if you really need to be up-to-date, then you need to be up-to-date....

Now, if there were someone who made a mod kit to convert a R107 to a R230...

I don't know man, its just my buddy trying to be up to date all the time. He says that this is his first luxury car he ever bought, some sentimental value or something.

I kept my SL just the way it is, I might of change the engine. But everything else is what its got rolling out of the factory. Anyways, how was the update on those prices?

I love that brabus front bumper for the sl... Everyone is still Audi's design with the daylight LEDs . Now the new e-class coming out this year will have daylight LEDs. But anyway the car looks great, it is def not worth it for that price but I am assuming the person had a hook up and probably paid a fraction for the upgrade. I would guesstimate around 8k. which isnt so bad considering what the newer SL's are going for. So for 8k you got a brand new car.

For 8k he got an almost brand-new looking car.

I pondered an upgrade to the '07 AMG front grill/bumper/fogs but balked at the 3k price of doing it. It was only going to be 3k b/c the car was getting repainted anyway.

Wouldn't the car devalue more than what it cost to upgrade it?...

So if the mod is a bolt on you can make a 03 sl look like this?.... I'm sure if you find all the parts aftermarket they would be much cheaper than 15k... 30k for a low mile 03 sl plus 15k in parts, it's still cheaper than a new 09 sl 550 @ 98k...

I'll make sure I detail it well. I think this is something everybody here wonders about, cost will be as minimal as possible. Im not going to spend a bunch of $$$ on a car that I will be trading in soon.
