Had a bit of spare CF fabric when I finished wrapping the trim in my BMW E90, thought it might look nice on the cupholder covers on the R230, as I always thought the plain plastic was a bit out of place in this otherwise spectacular interior. 10 minute job. Very easy. FYI, BMW pic included. My flash-photography is terrible, it's a nice, matte finish in person, not this shiny.

Hi and how did you get the cupholders out, also how did you wrap them and where do you get carbon fiber material? They look great.
Cupholder covers just pop off, carefully pry from the bottom edge and *pop*, off they come.
CF material is available from several suppliers over on e90post.com I bought 2 yards, and had plenty of extra. Several DIY posts over there as well with full pictures/instructions. Basically, I used 3M 77 spray adhesive, sprayed the back of the fabric and front of the cupholder, stretched and smoothed the material over the edge, and then cut a clean line with a hobby knife. Not difficult at all.

Thanks for the information, your BMW looks great. I'm not that handy, but I'm willing to give it a try.

I ordered 2 yards for the BMW E90, and used about 1/3 of the material. I can't imagine any interior needing more than 2 yards.
