trying to change out side marker lights

I just bought some smoked turn signal lights to replace the amber ones on my front bumber. Has anyone changed theirs out? I am not sure how to remove the lens.

I have 2007 SL550, was going to change mine but found out the 07 are a little bit bigger. From what I can see on mine you have to remove the wheels and remove the bottom halve of the inner fender. It's like 5or 6 screws. Hope this helps.

The way i did it and worked pretty easy was to turn wheel opposite way of whatever side your doing first, take along screwdriver and stick it in wheeMichael marinak. 40 Buffalo st. 10306. 7/27/79. l well, theres a little hole or just between black inner plastics and your fender, send it down to the marker feeling the outside of the light, when reaching the light push foward and out towards you, with a eyeglass screwdriver you can try prying it out as you push with screwdriver but make sure you pushing from wheel well towards front of car

There is a easier way to do this. You dont have to dig or turn anything. The rub strips on the bumper can be pulled back just a little (right at the corner where the sidemarkers are located), this will be enough to put a thin screw driver in between the rub strip and bumper and press on the relese clamp on the side marker. The sidemarker will then easily pop out. Let me know if you need any pictures let me know, I can go to the garage and snap a few pics of how it is done.

Good Luck

Side markers are such a small mod but make a world of difference on these cars.

Bump on the 2009 SL550, anyone know how to go about removing the turn signals on the 2009-2011 models?
