Is there anyway to do this through an in-car menu?
On my w204 (c300) I can access a secret menu by holding down certain keys on my comand system and then enable or disable certain things.
I want to get rid of this malfunction memory message on my r230 as well. But mine says 2, I am assuming one is teleaid and the other is the battery message that I am getting fixed next week. Anyway to scan the error messages and find out what they mean?

JC, I don't know if it can be done through in-car menu.
If you don't have SDS I have seen a thread on another forum where the owner disconnected the Teleaid module in rear of the car and also the connector for the SOS button.
If you go to an indy for the battery problem and he has StarDiag, show him the screenshots.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I can’t get any dealer to disable my SOS error message using the Star diagnostics. They say it is “company policy” and send me on my way despite my arguments. Does it need to be the Star tool, or can it be done using an Autel? Anyone know a shop in the central New Jersey area that deals with Mercedes that I can reach out to?
thanks,

Why did you you go to a dealer at all?
Find a private indy that comes well liked in your 20.
SDS, Autel doesn't matter. They both can wipe out old hard codes as long as the problems aren't also current.
Never use a dealer when there's a reputable indy who can perform the service.
Dealers are only for warranty work.
Good Luck

tools like iCarsfot and Autel can erase codes, but if the fault is something like a bad antenna (which is often the case), the error will return. Only SDS has the ability to code the car to disable TeleAid.

Reviving this thread as I also have this SOS teleaid malfunction. Have there been any updates to the readers where an SDS isnt required? Ordered an iCarsoft for Mercedes, hoping in 2024 this is all thats needed to rectify the issue.

Does Teleaid even work? I have an 04. I feel a lot has changed in cell communications since 04.

Teleaid worked on analog cellular, so it has zero functionality today. However, unless you loop around it, the Teleaid module has to be powered and functional to relay optical loop signals for the audio system. I recommend looping around it and removing it. It is a known cause of battery drain and does no positive work.
My Launch scanner will do a fair amount of variant coding. I haven't tried it for the cluster equipment coding, but I wouldn't be surprised if it and the iCarsoft would be able to do the job. Just pull up the cluster and see what your options are.

Is there a good DIY out there to loop & delete Teleaid?
